Instead, it has hardened, finding new, devastating ways to strike back, challenging the world's most powerful militaries through a cunning strategy of asymmetric warfare.
As the conflict stretches on, the initial military successes touted by Washington are increasingly overshadowed by Iran's stubborn resilience and its potent economic leverage, leaving President Trump grappling with a set of options that range from "bad to super bad to worse."
A Hammer Blow from the West
From a purely military perspective, the US and Israeli forces believe they are executing their campaign with remarkable efficiency, even ahead of schedule. "The United States is decimating the radical Iranian regime's military in a way the world has never seen before," boasted one official, a sentiment echoed by military commanders who view their progress as substantial.
